The current trend in outsourcing IT services has changed the management context for providing the business with the IT services it needs, against best prices and conditions. Operational control is transferred into management of commercial relationships, contracts and coordination of the services from specialized suppliers. Best practice shows that implementing and operating a Sourcing Governance Function will require staff awareness and understanding of the key principles and concepts of outsourcing and sourcing governance. For the customer-supplier relationship to be really successful such an awareness and understanding is needed both in the business organization and in the organization of the service provider(s). Course Approach Participants will learn the basic concepts of Outsourcing and Sourcing Governance. An interactive approach is used combining lecture, discussion and Quint’s best practice frameworks and real life examples to prepare participants for the APMG SGF certification exam.
The Sourcing Governance Foundation course is designed to provide basic knowledge of what the main concepts of Outsourcing and Sourcing Governance are and how they can be applied. Successful candidates will be prepared to take the APMG certified SGF exam.

Professionals at both clients and providers in the IT industry who have little experience in outsourcing and who want to get a kick-start on this topic.
Duration
The Sourcing Governance Foundation course is a two (2) day course that prepares participants for the APMG certified Sourcing Governance Foundation exam (optional), which is an integral part of the course curriculum.

Day 1:
Introduction to Outsourcing and Governance, Sourcing Strategy, Scoping the outsourcing opportunity, Selection of providers and Due Diligence, Contracting the services.
Day 2:
Transition, Sourcing Governance Framework, Implementing a Demand Supply Organization, Sample exam and feedback session, Exam for the APMG SGF certificate.
Certification
This course prepares the participant for the official APMG Sourcing Governance Foundation Exam (optional). Participants who take the exam are prepared extensively through practice exams and instructor feedback. The exam is a 40 question multiple choice exam. Participants will receive the certificate after answering at least 26 questions correctly.
